About Us

Our Beginnings

Dyersburg Funeral Home was founded in November of 1970 by a group of local businessmen.

The original owners of the funeral home sold the firm after nine months to Mr. Elmer Moore of Newbern, Tennesse.

Mr. Moore was the owner of Dyer County Memorial Gardens, as well as several other businesses in the area.

Mr. Moore implemented changes to the business operations that he felt would improve service to the community. Under his leadership, the business began to steadily grow.

After his death in 1975, his wife, Opal Moore continued with the business for many years.

Progress and Change

Throughout the years, we have strived to provide quality services and facilities to our customers.

In Lake County, we purchased homes in Ridgely and Tiptonville for use as chapels. Until that time families held visitations at home or a church. We converted these residences into dedicated funeral chapels.

After many years of service, new facilities were built to better serve the families of Ridgely and Tiptonville. The trust placed in us through the years by those families strengthened our commitment to build new facilities.

Our Main Location on Highway 51 ByPass in Dyersburg has conveniently served as a base of operations since the beginning.

Through the years, we have renovated in several ways, always with our clients in mind.

We have remodeled our chapel, visitation and common areas to provide a more home-like atmosphere. We have added new offices, equipment and staff for better efficiency and service.

Our Casket Selection Room has been streamlined so that families are better presented with their merchandise and personalization options.

We take pride in maintaining all of our facilities to the highest standards.
