Mccormack, Sr.
July 2, 1943 – November 18, 2020
Van David McCormack, Sr., 77, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.
Van was born on July 2, 1943, in Henderson County, TN, to the late, Ephard and Mary Louise Johnson McCormack. He was a retired heavy equipment operator and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Newbern. Van loved to fish and enjoyed spending time with his family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2020 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Brad McCormack officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday, November 20, 2020 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Anita Boswell of Winterville, GA; four sons, David McCormack, Jr. of Statham, GA, Tim McCormack of Lavonia, GA, Mark McCormack of Winterville, GA and Shawn McCormack of Rayle, GA; one brother, Nathan McCormack of Dyersburg, TN; three sisters, Hazel Martin of Florence, AL, Brenda King of Knoxville, TN and Bonita Hunter of Hickman, KY; eleven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Van was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Taylor; and six brothers, Cloys McCormack, Larry McCormack, Donald McCormack, Leon McCormack, Lonnie Fay McCormack and Robert Clayton McCormack.
Pallbearers will be Larry McCormack, Jr., Keith McCormack, Brian McCormack, Anthony McCormack, Justin Huey and Luke Boswell.
Memorials may be directed to the Church of Jesus Christ, 3301 Sharps Ferry Road, Newbern, TN 38059.
