Lee Hastings Simmons, 81, of Finley , TN passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on October 23, 1937, in Halls, TN, to the late Thomas Hilton Simmons and the late Emma Sue Hastings Simmons. Lee served the community for 43 years as a pharmacist for the Dyersburg Methodist Hospital. He graduated the University of Tennessee School of Pharmacy in 1959 and was a member of the Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity. He was a member for over 50 years and served as a Deacon for the Finley Baptist Church. He enjoyed the BBQ Hut Monday morning "Coffee Club". He served as a commissioner for the Dyersburg Suburban Utility District.

The loves of his life were his wife Doris of 59 years, his faith, family and friends. He brightened everyone's day with a smile and a song.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Finley Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 P.M. Saturday, May 11th, 2019 at Finley Baptist Church with Bro. Charlie Haliburton officiating. Entombment will be at Fairview Cemetery at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Thomas Simmons and Bernard Simmons. Survivors include Doris Simmons of Finley, TN; two daughters, Lee Ann Simmons of Knoxville, TN and Teresa Simmons Perkins (Dennis) of Sierra Vista AZ; three grandchildren Callie Perkins, Kyle Perkins, Lauren Perkins.

Pallbearers will be Dennis Perkins, Kyle Perkins, Mike Goff, Derrioll Davidson, and Mark Enochs. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow deacons of Finley Baptist Church.

Memorials may be directed to Finley Baptist Church or to St Jude's Children Hospital.
