William Carter Willoughby, 84, of Dyersburg, TN passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

He was born on July 1, 1934, in Toone, TN, to the late Charles Willoughby and late Jessie Beatrice Siler Benthal. William was a retired foreman for Dyersburg Fabrics and was a member of Finley United Pentecostal Church. Mr. Willoughby served his country in the United States Navy.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Finley United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Doug Ellingsworth and the Rev. Wesley Stephens officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, October 1, 2018 and from 12-1 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at Finley United Pentecostal Church.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Lois Garrard Willoughby of Finley; two daughters, Cindy Willoughby Stephens (James) of Murfreesboro and Karen Willoughby Chandler (Byron) of Dyersburg; nine grandchildren, Meghan Willoughby, Barak Willoughby, Mikayla Willoughby, Wesley Stephens (Lindsey), Wade Stephens, Chris Chandler (Brittani), Michelle Schoepke (Richard), Becky Bruce (Scott) and Stacy Chandler; and six great-grandchildren, Chloe Bruce, Chandler Bruce, Emily Schoepke, Richard Schoepke, Hazel Stephens and Knox Stephens.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Steve Willoughby and wife, Barbara; his step-father, Curtis Benthal; five brothers; and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be Christopher Chandler, Wesley Stephens, Barak Willoughby, Wade Stephens, Scott Bruce and Richard Schoepke.
