William Amos Parrish, 92, of Dyersburg, passed away on Monday, April 21, 2014 at Dyer Nursing and Rehab Center.
He was retired from Colonial Rubber and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and gardener. William was a former employee of Columbiana Seed Company. He was a former resident of South Town until 2010.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with Bro. Chuck Richardson officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Lillian "Sis" McPherson Parrish of Dyersburg; two daughters, Carolyn Pittman and husband, Danny, of Dyersburg and Sharon Faye Johnson and husband, Donnie, of Ridgely; three sons, William Paul Parrish and wife, Alicia A., Davie Parrish and wife, Donna, and Gerald Parrish and wife Mickey, all of Dyersburg; two sisters, Nell Howell of Concorde and Shirley Churchwell of Linden; thirteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, including Brianna Fitzhugh; and his beloved pet, Copper.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Sandra Kaye Chilcutt; and his parents, Willie and Delmar Lee Parrish.
Pallbearers will Eric Parish, Jerry Cantrell, Johnny Smith, Rob Fitzhugh, Alan Parrish and Chad Parrish.
The family requests that memorials be directed to American Heart Association.
