William "Bill" Hoover Hunt, 87, of Finley, TN, passed away on Saturday, March 31, 2018 at Oakwood Community Living Center.
He was born on April 22, 1930, in Henderson, TN, to the late Joe Hunt and the late Eula Green Hunt. Bill was a retired farmer and attended Chic Church of God. He was a loving father and grandfather and was very kind and loving. Bill enjoyed flowers and his cat Squiggy. He also had a great sense of humor and loved getting his picture taken.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 4, 2018 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Calvin Smith and the Rev. Steven Spires officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his two daughters, Mary Ann Hudson (Larry) of Dyersburg and Jewell Carroll (Robert) of Richwoods; a son, Wayne Hunt (Peggy) of Chic; two sisters, Alice Hunt of Jackson and Lena Hunt of Kentucky; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Marie Hunt; a son, Billy Ray Hunt; two sisters, Mary Lee Foster and Pearl Hunt; and four brothers, Marion Hunt, Allie Junior Hunt, Robert Hunt, Sr. and Hubert Hunt.
Pallbearers will be Robert Lynn Hunt, Johnny Hunt, Joe Smith, Chuck Smith, Johnny Lee and Leonard Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Lloyd Smith and Jerry Hunt.
