Obituary

William Eugene Epley, 73, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at his residence.

He was a retired MSGT of the U.S. Air Force, where he served for 20 years and a Vietnam War Veteran. He was a self-employed quality control auditor, an active member of Finley United Methodist Church, where he served on several boards. His hobbies were enjoying his grandchildren, reading and his love of flying. He was an organ and tissue donor.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Ralph Gunter officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Francene Welch Epley of Dyersburg; his son, Barry Gene Epley and wife, Dana, of Dyersburg; three daughters, Janet Rae Reese and husband, Richard, of Jackson, Elizabeth Bruerton of Dyersburg and Christina Borden and husband, Brad, of Jackson; two sisters, Linda Epley of Dyersburg and Brenda Russell of Bogota; two brothers, Jack Epley and wife, Sandy, of Greenville, SC and Jimmy Epley and wife, Carol, of Memphis; four grandchildren, Richard Lunn, Logan Epley, Annabelle Reese and Caroline Borden; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmon and Mildred Henderson Epley.

Pallbearers will be Richard Lunn, Logan Epley, Joe Williams, Jr., Matthew Williams, Miles Epley and John Russell, Jr.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Finley United Methodist Church or to the Salvation Army.
