William Edward Forrest, 58, of Tiptonville, passed away on Monday, March 3, 2014 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was a corporal at Northwest Correctional Facility. He was a Lake County High School Class of 1973 graduate, a former Lake County Road Commissioner from 2002-2010 and a little league baseball coach. William was a 10 gallon blood donor for the Red Cross, loved to do small engine repairs for anyone who needed it and was very civic and community minded. He was a Baptist.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Lavender officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his wife, Kay Forrest of Tiptonville; two sons, Matthew Forrest and wife, Lori, of Ridgely and Taylor Forrest of Tiptonville; a sister, Ruby Forrest of Tiptonville; two brothers, Billy Forrest and Roger Forrest, both of Hornbeak; and three grandchildren, Candace Michelle Forrest, Gemma Quinn Forrest and William Sawyer Forrest.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Buford and Lillie Johnson Forrest; and three brothers, Bobby Forrest, W.C. Forrest and Russell Forrest.
Pallbearers will be James Ricky Forrest, Bob Morgan, Tanner Rose, Phillip Poucher, Zac Ricketts and Quinton Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Randy Gardner, Sonny Broglin, Ann Fisher, Joni Bargery, Michael Wade Moore, Steve Coleman, Jeff Alexander, Teresa Readenour, Angie Chadwick and the 3rd shift - site 2 at Northwest Correctional Facility.
