"Bud" Nichols
October 24, 1935 – September 29, 2021
William Nathan Nichols, known as "Bud" by family and friends, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at AHC healthcare in Dyersburg, TN.
Born on October 24, 1935 in Cat Corner, TN. He was the son of the late John William Nichols and Emma May Pilkenton Nichols. Bud worked on the farm for years before starting a job with Colonial Rubber Works, Inc in Dyersburg, TN which he retired from after 35 plus years of service. He then returned to work with his son David and grandsons on Nichols Farms. Farming ran deep in Mr. Bud's blood.
He served as Sunday school teacher and elder at Rehobeth Church of Christ at Cat Corner, TN for many years. After services ended there, he became an active member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ. Faith, Family, and Farming was a big part of his life.
On November 22, 1952 in Corinth, MS, he married Wanda Viola Green Nichols, who preceded him in death. His love for his wife remained strong throughout the years.
The family will receive visitors from 5:00 - 8:00 Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 3, 2021 at West Dyersburg Church of Christ conducted by Bro. Jim Chamblee and Mr. Rick Crawford. Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Elbridge, TN.
Survivors include his sons, David Nichols ( Ginger) of Ridgely, TN and Perry Nichols (Kathy) of Trimble, TN; two daughters, Penny Price (Ronnie) of Ridgely, TN and Cathy Diggs (Jeff) of Augusta, GA; one brother, Jim Nichols (LaWanda) of Ridgely, TN; two sisters, Ruby Lee Lay of Ridgely, TN and Dianne Crawford (Rick) of Dyersburg, TN; six grandchildren, Tyler Nichols (Devon), Tanner Nichols, Chad Nichols (Ashley), Beth Cartwright (Chris) Jason Price (Jennifer), Emily Jones (Ki); fourteen great-grandchildren and two great great-grandchildren.
His children and grandchildren will always remember his love and care for them. His example of a fine Christian man was known by many and has and will continue to be an influence in the lives of the ones that crossed his path.
Honoring Mr. Bud as pallbearers will be Tyler Nichols, Tanner Nichols, Chad Nichols, Jason Price, Ronnie Price, and Jeff Diggs.
