Obituary

William Asa "Bill" Dean, Jr., age 91, of Dyersburg, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2016 at his residence.

Mr. Dean was the retired owner of Dean's Radio & TV Sales & Service. He was a World War II veteran in the U.S. Army and retired as a Captain in the National Guard. Later he became an amateur HAM Radio Operator. He was active in the Dyer Baptist Association and attended Springhill Baptist Church and was also a dedicated member of Gideon's International.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. John Hart officiating. Burial will be at Yorkville Cemetery.

The Dean Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Dean of Dyersburg; his children, Donna Dean Brewer of Dyersburg, William Asa "Butch" Dean III and wife, Linda, of Dyersburg, Sherry Dean Peters and husband, Denton, of Murfreesboro, Connie Dean Snyder and husband, Roger, of Newbern, Perry "Pee Wee" Cox and wife, Debra, of Friendship, Pam Tinkle and husband, Dickey, of Dyersburg, Vicky Anderson of Dyersburg, and Tony Bailey of Dyersburg; a sister, Peggy Dean Wilson of Dyersburg; three brothers, Bob Dean and wife, Eleanor, of Dyersburg, Charles Dean and wife, Brenda, of Jackson and Jerry Dean of Newbern; seventeen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William, Sr. and Lera Williamson Dean.

Pallbearers will be Jason Sweat, Perry Cox, Brandon Franks, Robert Dean, Chuckie Dean and Dale Peters.

The Dean Family requests that memorials be directed to the Gideon's International.
