William C. "Bill" Crowson, 90, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, November 24, 2012 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
He was a retired air traffic control specialist with Federal Aviation Administration, a 50 + year member of Phillips Street Church of Christ, former member of Newbern Saddle Club, member of Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society, graduate of Greenway High School in Greenway, AR, former employee of Southern Airlines and was a lover of animals, horseback riding and playing golf.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Andy Brewer and Mr. Edgar Shults officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Tellie Mai Via Harris Crowson of Dyersburg; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Kitty and Fred Hughes of Finley; five nieces; and seven nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sue Moore Crowson; his parents, C.C. and Della Davis Crowson; two sisters, Annette Crowson Haywood and Lorell Crowson Whiteside; and four brothers, James V. Crowson, Everett M. Crowson, Earl Crowson and Lemuel Crowson.
Pallbearers will be Kyle Caton, Chad Barron, Dan Clevenger, Brodie Cupples, Mike McLaughlin and Doug Medlin.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Dyersburg/Dyer County Humane Society, American Cancer Society or to a charity of the donor's choice.
