Obituary

William Harold Beasley, 72, of Bonicord, died Thursday, December 6, 2012 at his residence.

He was a retired salesman for Quality Foods, member of Fowlkes Baptist Church, volunteer at the Veterans Museum at the Halls Air Base, Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and a member of the Marine Corps Cryptologic Association.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Layman and the Rev. Dr. Larry Blakeburn officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Newbern.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Brenda Godwin Beasley of Bonicord; two daughters, Joanna Grathwell of Big Sandy and Brandie Hurst of Henderson; a son, Steven Beasley of Dyersburg; a sister, Judy Hutchison of Nashville; a brother, Rodger Beasley of Covington; and seven grandchildren, Dalton Grathwell, Jonah Grathwell, Alexander Hurst, William Hurst, Anna Hurst, Karol Anne Hurst and Sarah Beth Hurst.

He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Beasley; and his parents, Horace and Mae McLaughlin Beasley.

Pallbearers will be Guy Wesley Fowler, David King, Larry Beasley, Mike McLaughlin, Billy Ray McLaughlin and Dale McCaslin. Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Kesterson, Billy Binkley, Troy Binkley, Johnny Dillahay, Riley Sullivan, Larry Fowlkes and Clayton Hayes.

The family requests that memorials be directed to the Veterans Museum in Halls.
