Welton "Gene" Hood, 76, of Trenton, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012 at his residence.
He was a retired maintenance supervisor for Trenton Mills, member of Branham Tabernacle Church and an U.S. Air Force Veteran.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Survivors include his three daughters, Connie Putman and husband, Dale, Michelle Utley and husband, Bill, and Samantha Henry and husband, James Roy, all of Trenton; a sister, Earline Brooks of Dyersburg; a brother, Bill Hood of Oak Brook, IL; five grandchildren, Jay Hooper, Geoffrey Utley, Susan Hooper, Emily Putman and Jordan Henry; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Carneice Ogden Hood; his parents, Silas and Georgia Corder Hood; a sister, Dolly Birholtz; and two brothers, Ozell Hood and Clifford Hood.
Pallbearers will be Dale Putman, Jay Hooper, Bill Utley, Geoffrey Utley, James Roy Henry and Sam Vestal.
