Mr. Wayne King Bateman, of Dyersburg, passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at his home.  He was born May 8, 1935 in the Stokes Community  to the late Vinnie and Julia Bateman.  He worked in production for Dyersburg Fabrics for many years and in his free time, he loved woodworking projects.  He liked to work outdoors, mowing and especially helping out his neighbors when they needed assistance.

Wayne is survived by his sister, Dorothy and many nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his long-time companion Rose Jones, his parents Vinnie Bateman and Julia King Bateman, his brothers Harold and Lloyd Bateman and a sister Ann Millner Smith.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 23, 2025 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.  Chapel funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m.  conducted by Bro. Loren Stephens.  Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery.   Serving as pallbearers will be Anthony Dean, Jimmy Jones and Wayne's family members.
