Wayland Dewayne Johns, 85, of Trenton, TN, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born on August 27, 1932, in Chestnut Bluff, TN, to the late Otis Zeak Johns and the late Alma Jean Barnard Johns. Mr. Wayland was a retired tavern owner and was a member of the Trenton Elks Club. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, February 24, 2018 at South Fork Cemetery near Halls, TN with Mr. Aaron Michaels officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Family members and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery.
Survivors include his four daughters, Tiffany Cooke of Ooltewah, TN, Betty Jo Richards of Romeoville, IL, Bonnie Sue Miller of Arbyrd, MO and Laura Oseth of Chicago, IL; two sons, William Dewayne Johns and Michael Raymond Johns, both of Chicago, IL; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his three sisters, Blondell Kolwyck, Gracie Lorene Butts and Erma Jean Clark.
