Wanda Sue Hayes, 86, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2022 at her residence in Tiptonville.

Wanda was born on August 7, 1936, in Tiptonville, TN, to the late Jessie and Golden Carrington Perkins. She was retired as a kitchen manager with the Northwest Tennessee Correctional Complex and was a member of Jones Chapel Church of Christ.

Private family services will be held at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her two daughters, Judy Hayes and Sherry Sue Hayes, both of Tiptonville, TN; a son, Carlton "Tony" Hayes (Becky) of Ridgely, TN; three sisters, Patricia Lamb of Ridgely, TN, Connie Perkins and Cindy Fisher, both of Dyersburg, TN; two brothers, Ronnie Perkins of Fulton, KY and Joe Perkins of Springfield, TN; seven grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Wanda was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Carlton "Duke" Hayes; three sisters, Frances Jones, Ruth Ann Taylor and Linda Williams; and five brothers, Howard Perkins, Carl Perkins, Jessie Perkins, Jr., Jerry Perkins and Jackie Perkins.

Pallbearers will be Scottie Heathcock, Matthew Chesser, Jeremy Stephenson, Cody Lore, Little Nicky Hayes and Tyler Chesser. Honorary pallbearers will be Nicky Hayes, Sr., Terry Williams and Nick Tarrant.
