Mrs. Virginia Lou Wynn, of Wynnburg, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2025 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg Hospital.  Lou was born November 13, 1942 to the late Lewis Alfred and Virginia Burrow Councill.  She attended Lambuth University and was involved in Greek life on campus.  During her life, she spent many years working in and managing her family's store, the fondly remembered "Councill's Five & Dime".   She loved music and knew the latest dance moves. Her husband played trumpet in a band and she would travel with him to gigs in the area. Her home in Wynnburg and the town of Tiptonville were near and dear to her.  For many years, she was involved in the planning of high school class reunions in Tiptonville.  She was a lifelong member of the Presbyterian Church.  In retirement, she enjoyed time spent with friends socializing and playing Bridge and was a lover of animals, especially her dogs.

Lou is survived by her sister, Mrs. Carrie Councill Riedmeyer, and nieces Ms. Carrie Lee Stetler and Mrs. Mary Stetler Haley and husband, Richard, all of Memphis and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Rebecca Weiler and husband Rick, of Dallas, TX.  She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Paul Prentiss Wynn, Jr., her parents and a nephew, Roland Guest Stetler, III.  Her family would like to thank Mary Farmer and the devoted team of ladies that cared for Ms. Lou; Kim, Patty, Beverly, Delila and Margie.

Funeral services will be held in the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home on Friday, May 9, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Rev. Cory Williams of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church of Dyersburg. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. and interment will follow the services in the Tiptonville City Cemetery.

The family request that memorials for Ms. Lou Wynn be directed to a pet rescue of the donor's choosing.
