Virginia "Jenny" Sue Humphreys, age 91, of Hornbeak, TN, passed away on December 12, 2024, at Signature Healthcare in Ridgely, TN.

Born on November 8, 1933, in Tiptonville, TN, she was the daughter of the late William Franklin Abbott and Willie Bea Johnson Abbott. Jenny was a devoted homemaker who found joy in puzzleword and puzzles, and she loved watching hummingbirds. She was a cherished member of the Hornbeak Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 14, 2024 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Graham officiating. Burial will be in Hornbeak Cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends prior to the service beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until the service time.

She is survived by her two daughters, Theresa Gail Humphreys of Hornbeak, TN, and Sherry Howell and her husband, Jackie, of Ridgely, TN.

In addition to her parents, Jenny was preceded in death by her husband, James Ruben Humphreys, and her three sisters, Ruth Jane Brown, Vera Mae Hopper, and Emily Frances Lingle.

Jenny's life was celebrated by her family and friends, with pallbearers including Jackie Howell, Terry Howell, Roy Humphreys, David Wollin, Joe Flowers, and Chris Burress.
