Virginia Baker, 88, of Dyersburg, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2015 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
She was a homemaker and served 39 years as a Pink Lady Volunteer at Parkview Hospital and Methodist Hospital. Mrs. Baker was a member and deacon of Cumberland Presbyterian Church and was a member of Keenagers and Lydia Circle.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Dr. Larry Blakeburn and the Rev. Annetta Camp officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Sunday at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 12-1 p.m. Monday at the church.
Survivors include her grandson, Jim Ford and wife, Kelly, of Dyersburg; a great-grandson, Colton Ford of Dyersburg; a sister, Kathy Gifford of Dyersburg; a brother, Billy Stafford of Dyersburg; three nieces, Tish Rawles of Cincinnati, OH, Susan Michel of Knoxville and Janie Stafford Parker of Dyersburg; and a nephew, Bubba Stafford.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leland "Bud" Baker; two daughters, Katherine Schumacher and Donna Baker Morgan; her parents, Wilmer and Lottie Godwin Stafford; and a sister, Helen Jones.
Pallbearers will be John Ford, Mike Akes, Bob Autry, William Mallard, John Hamilton and Neal Raggett. Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Parnell, Charles Maxey, Lucy Overall and Tracy Clark.
The family requests that memorials be directed to the benevolent fund at Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
