Vernon Ray Davis, 76, of Dyersburg, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was a retired utility worker at Colonial Rubber, where he worked for 34 years. Mr. Davis was a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and Germany. He was also a Baptist.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Nate Ozment officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The Davis Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Patsy Stephenson Davis of Dyersburg; a daughter, Marieca Davis of Dyersburg; a son, Marc Davis of White Bluff; three sisters, Janice Weatherley, Ruth Finch, and Doris McLish, all of Beebe, AR; two brothers, Jimmy Davis of Huntsville, TX and Steve Tatum of Alamo; two grandchildren, Benjamin Burns and Samantha Burns Hooker; and two great-grandchildren, Davis Reyd Hooker and Kyler Reece Howard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Hildred Jones Davis; and four brothers, Bruce Davis, Bobby Joe Davis, Alden Tatum, and James Davis.
Pallbearers will be Alden Tatum, Joe Sanford, Bob Mullins, Larry Putman, Eric Putman, and Jeff Jones.
