Vera Mae Hopper, 85, of Hornbeak, TN, passed away on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at Tennova Healthcare Dyersburg Regional.

She was born on January 31, 1932 in Elbridge, TN, to the late William Franklin Abbott and the late Willie B. Johnson Abbott. Mrs. Hopper was a retired cafeteria worker for Black Oak Elementary School in Hornbeak. She was also a member of Hornbeak Church of Christ.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Keeton officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.

The Hopper Family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Odis Hopper of Hornbeak; a daughter, Debbie Jordan and husband, Marty, of Hornbeak; a son, Mike Hopper and wife, Carla, of Hornbeak; two sisters, Jane Brown of Perryville, MO and Jenny Humphreys of Hornbeak; three grandchildren, Bracey Tittle of Troy, Alyssa Hopper and Ben Jordan, both of Hornbeak; and two great-grandchildren, Ariel Jordan and Naomi Tittle.

Pallbearers will be Ben Jordan, Ariel Jordan, Bracey Tittle, Justin Tittle, Alyssa Hopper and Jackie Howell. Honorary pallbearer will be Naomi Tittle.
