Velma L. Dorse's Obituary
Velma Dorse, 74, of Dyersburg, died Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at her residence.
She was a homemaker and a Baptist.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Williams officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Dewayne Dorse of Dyersburg; a daughter, Suelene Rogers and husband, James, of Dyersburg; three sons, Billy Gordon, Ralph Gordon and Jackie Gordon, all of Dyersburg; a sister, Dorothy Burse and husband, Onnie, of Bogota; and two grandchildren, Michael Richardson of Dyersburg and James Rogers, Jr. of Charleston, S.C.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Dida Wynberry Tipps; a grandson, Jeffrey Lynn Richardson; five sisters, Patricia Sealy, Pauline Barker, Margie Harris, Gladys Newell and Linda Cagle; and two brothers, Louis Elmore Tipps and Coy Tipps.
Pallbearers will be Gene Harris, Nathan Harris, Frankie Harris, Jerry Harris, Onnie Burse and Jessie Harris.
