Mr. Harold "Van" Hinson, of Friendship, Tn. passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2020 at AHC Nursing & Rehabilitation in Dyersburg, TN.  He was born June 25, 1934 to the late Annie Lou & Lester Hinson.  He was a grocer, meat manager and owner of the Plaza Food Center, in Southtown-Dyersburg, for over 43 years.  He served as a Deacon at Hawthorne Baptist Church and attended Parrish Chapel Church. He was an avid sports fan, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and was a Tennessee Walking Horse enthusiast. He was known for never turning down someone in need.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Clarice Sisk Hinson, a son Kenny Hinson and wife, Tracy, two daughters, Dawn Newbill and husband Jeff, all of Dyersburg and Susanne Sanderson and husband, Jeff, of Kenton, TN, two brothers, Larry Hinson and wife, JoAnn and Dickey Hinson and wife, Waldeen. He was PeePaw to his six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Family and Friends are invited to join together at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at Fairview Cemetery in Dyersburg, for graveside services, conducted by Rev. Clyde Thompson. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
