Ursula Gertrud Pitts, 78, of Tiptonville, TN, passed away on Friday, November 17, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
She was born on February 16, 1939 in Paschwitz Breslau, Germany, to the late Kurt Schirdewahn and the late Agnes Cacilie Ruckert Schirdewahn. Ursula was a retired cashier for the Lake County School Systems and was a former PX Assistant Manager at McKee Barracks in Crailsheim, Germany. She was also a member of Jones Chapel Church of Christ.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at the Church of Christ in Tiptonville with Mr. Wilford Mobley and Mr. Lonnie Grady officiating. Burial will be in Antioch Cemetery in Hornbeak. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2017 at the church.
Survivors include her husband, Gerald Pitts of Tiptonville; two daughters, Vira Shelton and husband, Earl, of Clarksville and Karen Montgomery and husband, Jerry, of Kirksey; four grandchildren, Earl Lee Shelton, Jr., Michelle Lee Radford, Jonathon Montgomery and Lauren Montgomery; and two great-grandchildren, Mason Radford and Tyson Radford.
Pallbearers will be Tim Michael, Shelby Barker, Jr., Bobby Upson, Richard Blackburn, Jerry Montgomery and Jonathon Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be Shelby Barker, Sr., Earl Lee Shelton, Jr., Earl Lee Shelton, Sr., Charles Pitts and Jean Pitts.
