Troy Lavaughn Fowler, 94, passed away on August 24, 2026, at the Tennessee State Veteran's Home in Humboldt, Tennessee. He was born on February 2, 1932, in Michie, Tennessee.
Mr. Fowler served his country as a Corporal in the United States Army from 1952 until 1954 during the Korean War era. Following his years of service, he built a working life that included his retirement from Dyersburg Fabrics in 1994 from the Spring Needle Department. He was also known for enjoying yard sales and auction sales, where he frequently bought and sold items, a pastime that reflected both his energy and his love of connecting with others.
Faith was an important part of his life. He and his wife Joyce attended Northside Church of Christ and later became long-time members of Main Street Church of Christ, where he served as song leader. He loved his family, and that devotion remained one of the defining blessings of his life.
He was preceded in death by his father, Laney Fowler; his mother, Vema Lambert Fowler; his brothers, Earle Fowler and Dalton Fowler; his sister, Hazel Bane; his grandson, Stephen Fowler; and his great-granddaughter, Summar LeAnn Fowler.
He is survived by his sons, Terrell “Terry” Fowler of Dyersburg, TN and Tony Fowler of Fulton, KY; his sister, Barbara Fair of Dyersburg, TN; his grandson, Chris Fowler and wife. Charity; his granddaughter, Kim Fowler Tate and husband, Joseph; and his great-grandchildren, Joseph Tate, Athena Tate, Kendall Fowler, Anna Fowler, and Chloe Fowler. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and continue to live on in the family he loved so dearly.
