Troy Darrell Ferrell, age 73 of Tiptonville, TN passed away Friday, March 31, 2023 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

He was born on August 23, 1949 in Alamo, TN to the late Troy & Ruby Bills Ferrell. Troy retired as a sergeant from the Northwest TN Correctional Complex after 18 years of services as a correctional officer. He was a huge fan of the Chicago Cubs and enjoyed fishing in his spare time. Troy was known as a cut up that never met a stranger. He was a loving father and grandfather to his kids and grandchildren who he dearly loved. Troy was a faithful member of Wynnburg Baptist Church. He also enjoyed supporting and cheering on any sporting event going on in Lake County. Troy proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Memorial services for Troy Ferrell will be Monday, April 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Wynnburg Baptist Church conducted by Bro. Brent Long. The family will receive visitors from 1 until service time on Monday. Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Carolyn Sue Ferrell of Tiptonville, TN; two sons, Robert Wood (Angelique) of Greenville, IL and Hubert Wood (Amy) of Newport News, VA; one daughter, Kimberly Yeiter (Greg) of Newbern, TN; and three grandchildren, Annalise Ferrell, Amber Ferrell and Jackson Wood.

In addition to his parents, Troy was preceded in death by his son, Keith Ferrell and two brothers, Randy Ferrell and James Lynn Ferrell.
