Thomas "Tommy" Edward Sims, Sr. passed away unexpectedly on September 11, 2024 in Dyersburg, Tennessee.

Tommy was born October 11, 1955 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to the late Leon & Wilma Hilliard Sims. He was an active member of Lenox Baptist Church where he'll be dearly missed. He loved the Lord and his family. He was a sportsman throughout his life; however, in retirement he enjoyed daily golf games and weekly bowling. His warm smile, wit, and sense of humor drew people to him. His biggest pride was his family. Tommy was married for 51 years to his sweetheart, Debbie Bevill Sims whom he lovingly called "Rose." Tommy loved his son and daughter with all his heart. He taught them the importance of faith, dedication to others, work ethic, sense of humor and how to be an amazing parent.

He leaves behind his adoring wife Debbie Bevill Sims; his daughter, Tonya Sims Sartin (Blake) of Maryville, TN; his son, Eddie Sims (Amy) of Dyersburg; a sister, Debbie Darter (Johnny); and a brother, Ronnie Sims (Connie). They will treasure their memories of Tommy. Pop "T" adored his 5 grandchildren, Tucker Sims, Weston Sims, Henley Sartin, Lander Sartin, and Paisley Sartin. His memory will live on through them.

Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Dyersburg Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home conducted by Bro. Dustin Pence. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery with Hal Williams, Jim Pate, Earl Bell, Bob Veal, David Haddock & Jim Lee honored to serve as pallbearers.

It is requested that memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to the ministries of Lenox Baptist Church.
