Tommy Reed age 75 of Dyersburg passed away on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at Methodist North Hospital in Memphis.
He was a farmer and a member of McCullough's Chapel Baptist Church. Tommy was a past President and member of the Executive Board of the Dyer County Fair Association. He was an avid football and baseball player and fan. He enjoyed fishing and all types of hunting, especially coon hunting. He was an active member of FFA. Tommy had a lifelong passion for farming and was truly blessed to share this joy with his two grandsons.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Donald Williams and the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Ann Holland Reed of Dyersburg; a daughter, LaDonna Reed Spry and husband, Nick, of Dyersburg; a brother, Herman Lee Reed of Finley; two grandsons, Kyle Thomas Brock and Nathan Reed Brock; three aunts, Arlene Hampton of Dyersburg, Bobbie Gray of Olive Branch, MS and Kay King of Marietta, GA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Otis and Joyce Richardson Reed; four aunts, Louise Reed, Maxine Coleman, Billie Hopper and Floy "Sis" Campbell; and five uncles, R.P. Richardson, Charlie Reed, Joe Reed, Bill Reed and Moody Reed.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Pate Hollingsworth, George Hollingsworth, William Paul Campbell, Jason Reed, Eddie Anderson, Robert Reed, Scotty Hampton and Bill Brock.
