Tom Davenport, 72, of Dyersburg, passed away on Sunday, September 22, 2013 at Dyersburg Regional Medical Center.
He was the owner and operator of A-1 Transmission and an avid NASCAR fan.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Fairview Cemetery with the Rev. Billy Criswell officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his wife, Norma Davenport of Dyersburg; two daughters, Julie Crouch and husband, Shane, and Sharon Woody and fiancée, Charlie Sutton, all of Newbern; a son, John Loring of Boise, ID; a brother, Paul Davenport of Brownsville, TX; six grandchildren, Joe Grissom of Bakersfield, CA, Anthony Patton of Phoenix, AZ, Devon Barger of Newbern, April Grissom of Steele, MO, Jeremy Patton of Cape Girardeau, MO and Shelby Sanford of Yorkville; and six great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bill and Violet Weckerley Davenport.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Sanford, Jeremy Patton, Devon Barger, Eddie Neisler, Donnie Jackson and Rocky Vaughn.
