Tina Turner McElyea, 50, of Memphis, formerly of Ridgely, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009 at the Regional Medical Center.
She was a certified nursing assistant, a member of Ridgely First Baptist Church, loved taking care of others, especially the elderly, worked at nursing homes for years and graduated in 1977 from Lake County High School.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home -- Ridgely Chapel with the Rev. Chris Wilbanks and the Rev. Richard Bragg officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 1-2 p.m. today at the Ridgely Chapel.
Survivors include her parents, Carlie and Dorothy Hammock Turner of Ridgely; a niece, Michelle Roark of Finley; a cousin, Mossey and Tom Wofford of Ponca City, Okla.; and special friends, Tanya and Bobby Washington of Byhalia, Miss.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Washington, Tom Wofford, Tony Leake, David Callens, Michael Smith and Tommy McElyea.
