Thomas Wayne Pleasant, 75, of Friendship, passed away on Tuesday, April 11, 2017 at his residence.

He was born on March 3, 1942 in Dyer County, TN, to the late, William Pleasant and the late Ruth Tibbs McAlister. Thomas was a retired truck driver for Wal-Mart. He loved catching, cooking and eating fish. Thomas also enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Dyer County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Jim Chamblee officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The Pleasant Family will receive visitors from 1:30-2:30 p.m. Saturday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Eunice Pylent Pleasant of Friendship; three daughters, Lori Buckner of Halls, Rita Thurmond and Lisa Vernon, both of Tampa, FL; two sons, Jeff Pleasant and wife, Amy, of Friendship and John Pleasant and wife, Tina, of Newbern; three sisters; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Matt Buckner, J.T. Pleasant, Ryan Bradley, Dennie Pylent, Larry Pleasant and Jamie Hessett. Honorary pallbearers will be Pete Pleasant and Dennis Pylent.
