Thomas Arledge Gibson, 79, of Dyersburg, died Sunday, June 28, 2009 at his residence.
He was a retired supervisor of Inland Steel in East Chicago, Ind. for 37 years and a member of Newbern Assembly of God Church.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today in Palestine Cemetery with Pastor Lyndel Fisher officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Vera Fay Gibson of Dyersburg; five daughters, Sylvia Martin of Wesson, Miss., Terry Douglas of Dyersburg, Barbara Cavalier of Lake Station, Ind., Jenny Gibson of California and Patricia Vinable of Williamsburg, Va.; four sons, Bruce Gibson of Dyersburg, Rodger Gibson of Portage, Ind., Michael Gibson and Tommy Gibson of Valparaiso, Ind.; a sister, Christine Freno of Alabama; a brother, Raymond Gibson of Hobart, Ind.; 70 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Thelma Gibson.
Pallbearers will be Jason Martin, Matthew Douglas, Jeremy Dick, Shawn Maggio, Joshua Dick and John Martin.
