Thomas Hubert Duncan, 78, of Dyersburg, died Thursday, April 2, 2009 at his residence.
He was retired as a police officer after 15 years with the Dyersburg Police Depart-ment, was a deputy for seven years with the Dyer County Sheriff's Department, a member and trustee of Three Oaks Baptist Church, a master Mason, member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Tennessee Law Enforcement, the National Rifle Association, 34-year member of the American Legion, and an Army veteran of the Korean War.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Phipps and Bro. Billy Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
Survivors include a daughter, Amy Miller of Cordova; a sister, Rheba Westmoreland of Dyersburg; a grandchild, Madison Duncan Miller; a niece and two nephews.
He was preceded in death by a son, Mark Thomas Duncan; and his parents, Hubert and Vera Capps Duncan.
Pallbearers will be Masons from Hess Lodge No. 93. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the men's Sunday school class of Three Oaks Baptist Church.
The family requests that any memorials be directed to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
