Thomas Edison Countess, 90, of Dyersburg, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at The Highlands of Dyersburg.
He was the retired owner of Intercity Glass Company. He was a member and Deacon at Hillcrest Baptist Church, where he also was the former Sunday School Superintendent. Mr. Countess was a member of the Rotary Club and a U.S. Army Veteran of WWII.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. John Adams officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 10-11 a.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include his daughter, Elaine McKee and husband, Mark, of Dyersburg; a sister, Doris Childress of Dyersburg; a brother, James "Jim" Countess of Dyersburg; two grandchildren, Mark McKee, Jr. and Sara Lain McKee Ireland and husband, Jeff,; and one great-grandchild, Dax Geoffery Ireland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Johnnie Louise Countess; a daughter, Brenda Countess; and his parents, Bill and Lola Bennett Countess.
Pallbearers will be David Countess, Tommy Childress, John Tibbs, Willie Slaughter, Glen McKee and Larry McCormack. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Countess, Jack Tibbs, Jimmy Tibbs and Joey Tibbs.
