Obituary

Thelma Louise "Peggy" Campbell, 89, of Dyersburg, died Saturday, November 27, 2010 after a short illness.

She was a retired claims representative with Tennessee Department of Veterans Affairs, where she worked for over 30 years, member and pianist of Fowlkes United Methodist Church for 63 years, graduate of Ridgely High School, attended and was a music major at University of TN at Martin, member of many senior citizens organizations and was very active in many charitable organizations.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Fowlkes United Methodist Church with the Rev. Marita Burkeen and Rev. John Lowrance officiating. Burial will be in New Haven Cemetery in Ridgely, TN. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 4-7 p.m. Monday at Dyersburg Funeral Home and from 9:30-11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Olsen and husband, Carl R. Olsen, of Memphis; three grandchildren, Rodney S. Campbell of South Fulton, Kimberly Campbell Hipps and husband, Jordan, of Dyersburg and Amy Elizabeth Cate of Nashville and several nieces and nephews of California.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roland S. Campbell, Jr.; a son, Roland S. Campbell, III; her parents, Charles and Stella Johnson Gray; and a brother, Leonard Faye Gray.

The family requests that memorials may be directed to Fowlkes United Methodist Church, Reelfoot Rural Ministries, Dyersburg/Dyer County Community Cancer Fund, Transitions of Dyer County, St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital or the charity of the donor's choice.
