Tate Becklehimer

Tate Becklehimer, 93, of Dyersburg, Tennessee, was born on July 15, 1933, in Dyersburg, Tennessee, and died on September 12, 2026, at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital. He lived a long life marked by service, faith, and dedication to his work and community.

Mr. Becklehimer served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War Era, attaining the rank of SP3. Following his years of service, he worked as assistant manager at Needham Enterprises, Inc, from which he later retired. He was also an active member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ, a meaningful part of his life.

He is survived by his stepdaughter, Shawnda Stanford and husband, Trae, of Alabama; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his former wife, Barbara Gregory Needham; his father, William “Otto” Becklehimer; his mother, Dora Ada Asbridge Becklehimer; his four brothers, D.F. Becklehimer, Moody Becklehimer, Billy Joe Becklehimer, and Shannon Becklehimer; his two sisters, Irma Garrison and Susie Sipes; and his favorite niece, Kim Jarvis.

Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on September 16, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home, 420 US-51 ByPass W, Dyersburg, TN 38024. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Mr. Jim Chamblee and Mr. Stephen Sutton officiating. Burial to follow at Neely’s Chapel Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers will be Randy Gregory, Dustin Jarvis, Matt Jarvis, Jimmy Jones, Danny Hickerson and Daniel Watson.
