Susan N. Tirey, 69, of Finley, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2008 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.

She was retired as a licensed practical nurse after 41 years with Parkview Hospital and Dyersburg Regional Medical Center, and was a member of West Dyersburg Church of Christ.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Chamblee and the Rev. Carmon Dennison officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Marshall Don Tirey of Finley; two daughters, Suzanne Hoggatt and husband, Ben, of Finley, and Tracy Tirey of Paragould, Ark.; two sons, Alan Tirey of Dyersburg and Bryant Tirey of Finley; two sisters, Doaney Winchester of Tatumville and Rebecca Deason of Newbern; five brothers, Freddie Dennison of Memphis, John Dennison of Ripley, Michal Dennison of Newbern, Carmon Dennison of Dyersburg and Randall Dennison of Dallas, Texas; four grandchildren, Emily Tirey of Memphis, and Anna Childress, Kelly Childress and Kirk Hoggatt, all of Finley; and a great-grandchild, Jacob Wroten of Finley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ross and Joanna Dennison; and two brothers, Samuel Dennison and Eugene Dennison.

Pallbearers will be Gene Finley, Dale Woods, Kirk Hoggatt, Ben Hoggatt, Bryant Tirey and Marty Permenter.
