Susan Lynn Fuller, 66, known to many for her warmth, kindness, and unwavering spirit, passed away peacefully on June 30, 2026, at NHC in Milan, Tennessee. She was born on March 29, 1960, in Yokosuka, Japan, to the late Tom and Juanita Howell Thompson, marking the beginning of a life defined by deep love for family, tireless dedication to her work, and a genuine appreciation for simple pleasures.
Susan spent her formative years cultivating values and passions that would stay with her throughout her life. A committed member of Our Little Country Church, she personified the spirit of fellowship and faith, finding inspiration and solace in her community. Her devotion extended most profoundly to her family, and she held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren. Their joy, laughter, and milestones were sources of immense pride and fulfillment for Susan, and she relished every moment spent in their company.
A lover of the outdoors, Susan cherished opportunities for fishing and camping, often seeking solace by the water or under a starlit sky. She found happiness in the quiet patience of a fishing line and the lively camaraderie of a campfire, making memories that will be treasured by all who shared in those moments.
Her affection for animals was evident in her tender care for her cats, who were both companions and confidants. Her household echoed with the contentment and comfort that only beloved pets can provide.
Whether gathered around a table for boardgames or cards, Susan brought a joyful competitiveness and laughter to every game. She believed in the value of time spent together and the bonds forged through shared fun and friendly rivalry.
Classic car shows were another of Susan’s passions, and she delighted in the beauty and power of vintage automobiles. Not only did she admire them, but she also took pride in working on cars herself. Her skill, determination, and willingness to get her hands dirty spoke to her resourcefulness and self-reliance—a true hallmark of her character.
Professionally, Susan served as a pressman at the State Gazette, demonstrating a strong work ethic and a commitment to quality that earned her the respect of colleagues. Her contributions and diligence left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of working alongside her.
Susan Lynn Fuller’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and an enthusiasm for life’s diverse joys. Her presence will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held to honor Susan’s memory at 2:00 PM on July 2, 2026, at Dyer County Memorial Gardens, located at 2455 St. John Ave, Dyersburg, TN 38024 with Bro. Tommy Roper officiating. All who held Susan dear are welcome to gather, reflect, and pay their final respects. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her son, William Fuller (Megan Stigall) of Texas; a sister, Dana Holley of Dyersburg, TN; two nieces, Christian Anderson and Stephanie Holley; a cousin, Vicky Stout of Dyersburg, TN; and two grandchildren, AnnaLiese Bardwell and Wyatt Fuller.
In addition to her parents, Susan was preceded in death by her daughter, Crystal Thompson.
Susan’s warmth and spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched, and her memory will continue to live on through the countless lives she enriched.
