Stoye Alton
Barham
August 29, 1937 – February 6, 2022
Stoye Alton Barham, age 84, of Finley, TN, passed away on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at his residence.
Stoye was born on August 29, 1937, in RoEllen, TN, to the late, Shelley Elvis Barham and Ola Mae Burkhead Barham. He was a self-employed excavating contractor and was a Baptist by faith.
Stoye Alton Barham began his life serving others driving a truck for Hart's Cleaners in Lake County. After Hart's, Stoye joined Newbern Motor Company where he learned backhoe's, doziers and dirt work. This truly became his career path. After working with Newbern Motor Company, Stoye started his own business for area farmers and businesses. Any farmer he worked for would tell you he was an expert at what he did.
Stoye worked for Ford Construction and Hutcherson Scrap. He loved his bright yellow Ford Semi, hauling what ever they needed. After he "retired", Stoye worked hard for Dyersburg Funeral Home and caring for Dyer County Memorial Gardens. So many years of service whether operating a backhoe, dozier, excavator truck or digging a grave, Stoye was happiest working and serving others.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Turner and Mr. Mike Bernard officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-7 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022 at Dyersburg Funeral Home
Survivors include his wife, Linda Barham of Finley, TN; a son, Tony Barham of Dyersburg, TN; a daughter, Gina Bernard (Mike) of Caruthersville, MO; two granddaughters he raised, Tabitha Blackburn and Tiffany Blackburn, both of Finley, TN; a brother, Rickey Barham (Kim) of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Elaine Reddin and Sheilah Kaye Cobb, both of Rives, TN; seven grandchildren, Kyle Barham, Emily Rebone (Nick), Kevann Whatley (Jimmy), Michael Henson (Ethan), Jenna Allen (Cary), Jimmy Bernard and Molly Ables, (Bryan); and three great-grandchildren, A.J.
