Steve Ashley, 58, of Ridgely, passed away on Friday, April 1, 2016 at The Bridge of Ridgely.

He was a certified truck driver and was injured on the job and had to retire. Steve grew up in Illinois, but moved to Tennessee in 1990. He served in the U.S. Army as an M.P. He also attended Elgin Illinois Schools.

Memorial services will be held at a later date. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

He is survived by his mother, Peggy Ashley of Ridgely; a sister, Marsha Ashley of Ridgely; three nephews, Michael Ashley, Joey Ashley and Tristan Ashley, all of Ridgely; two nieces, Misti Smith of Ridgely and Regina Poyner of Tiptonville; a great-niece, Mackenzie Hamra of Tiptonville; and four great-nephews, Zack Poyner and Seth Bumpas, both of Tiptonville, Mason Smith and Connor Smith, both of Ridgely.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Ashley; a sister, Belinda Ashley; and a great-niece, Maddison Smith.
