Stephanie Lynn Canoy, 55, of Ridgely, TN, passed away on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at West Tennessee Healthcare Dyersburg Hospital.

Stephanie was born on July 10, 1966, in Union City, TN, to Stevie Simmons and the late Joann Howell Benthal. She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 in the Ridgely Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. Tommy Dean officiating. Cremation services are under the direction of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at the funeral home.

Survivors include her son, Michael Lynn Howell of Clarksville, TN; a daughter, Chloe Howell of Millington, TN; her father, Stevie Simmons of South Fulton, TN; her step-mother, Jan Dowling; a step-son, Jeffrey Canoy; a step-daughter, Jessica Shelton; six brothers, Willie Benthal (Brenda), Wayne Benthal, Thomas Benthal (Samantha), Shawn Irvine, Darrell Benthal and Timothy Staggs; four sisters, Angela Benthal, Loretta Howell, Tonya Williams and Ariena Staggs; three grandchildren, Gannon Helton, Kingston Helton and Dawson Helton; four step-grandchildren, Isaiah Shelton, Savannah Shelton, Elijah Shelton and Isaac Shelton; three brothers-in-law, Harold Canoy (Diane), Jim Canoy (Sherry) and James Canoy (Sheila); three sisters-in-law, Dianne Alexander, Nikki Whitmore (Greg) and Carolyn Hoffman; and a bunch of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

In addition to her mother, Stephanie was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Canoy; her step-father, Lonnie Benthal; and a granddaughter, Whitley Helton.
