Ms. Sherry Gibson Butler, of Dyersburg, passed away June 15, 2022 at her residence.

She was born in Dyersburg on July 9, 1963 to the late Nickey and Ann Gibson. She is survived by her children, Bradley Butler and Nikki Butler Frank and husband Sean, all of Dyersburg and preceded in death by their father, Matt Butler, her parents and her sisters, Bonnie Sue and Mary Lou Gibson.  She also is survived by her brother, Andy Gibson and wife, Kelly, her nephews Andrew Gibson and Jacob Hugueley and was lovingly known as "Grammy" by her grandchildren, Brendon Hayes and Korbyn Butler.

She dedicated 27 years of service to the people of Dyersburg and Dyer County working as an emergency communications dispatcher and supervisor.  She was known especially for her kind, giving and selfless heart, volunteering for many community and cancer support events.  She always celebrated holidays with family by decorating family monuments, adopting Angel Tree children and making every birthday special.  She was a devoted mother and family member.

Visitation will begin on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. with Funeral Services at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home, conducted by Chaplain Jim Ennis.  Family burial services will be held at a later time.  Close friends Gloria Spence and Carla Christian will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family request that, instead of flowers, memorials be made to any local organization that supports those in need to honor Sherry's Butler's heart for others.
