Sharon Diane Nelson, age 73, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

Born on September 5, 1951, in Brookland, AR, she was the daughter of the late Alvin Owens and Lucille Branscum Dunigan. Sharon was a dedicated factory employee with World Color Press and a cherished member of the Three Oaks Chapel Baptist Church. Sharon had a passion for spending time with her family, especially enjoying outings to dine together. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she took great joy in Christmas shopping and watching classic TV shows like Perry Mason and Matt Lock.

Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 18, 2024, in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Bro. William Mathina and Bro. Bill Phipps officiating. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the same day at Dyersburg Funeral Home, followed by burial in McCullough Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, William Mathina and wife, Suzi, of Dyersburg, TN; her two brothers, David Dunigan and Junior Dunigan, both of Dyersburg, TN; two sisters, Letha Martin from Louisiana and Margaret Gwaltney of Halls, TN; four grandchildren, Stephanie Mathina, Zach Mathina, Jadon Mathina and Ben Mathina; and three great-grandchildren, Trey Turnbo, Sophia Turnbo and McKenzie Turnbo.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Andy Nelson; and four sisters, Mary Tate, Janette Sawyers, Janice Stanfield and Betty Kimberling.

Pallbearers will include William Mathina, Zach Mathina, Jadon Mathina, Ben Mathina, David Dunigan, and Junior Dunigan.
