Selma Faye Hardy, 86, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Sunday morning, March 13, 2022 at her home.
Faye was born in Dyersburg on March 9, 1936, to the late Aden and Maurine Glover. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, William "Bill" Hardy, Sr.; two sisters, Martha Holcomb and Jean Pleasant; and a step-son, Michael Hardy. She is survived by two sons, William "Bill" Hardy, Jr. (Lyda Harris) of Dyersburg and Steven Hardy of Niceville, FL; one sister, Joyce Riggs (Robert) of Dyersburg; four grandchildren, James Hardy (Jana) of Dyersburg, Kristina Cotten (Cody) of Yorkville, Laura Beth Jones (Hunter) of Dyersburg and William "Trey" Hardy of Memphis; seven great-grandchildren, Meagan Hardy, Brayden Hardy, Brilee Dallas, Tucker Ables, Lynnlee Jones, all of Dyersburg and William "Liam" Hardy IV and Myles Hardy, both of Memphis. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and her sitter and friend, Linda Jones of Newbern.
Faye had a great life and she didn't mind saying that. She had a deep faith and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Dyersburg for 44 years. She was active in UMW for many years. She loved the members of her Sunday school class and the friendships she made through adventures with the XYZ and "Keenagers" groups. She was a lifelong member of Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary.
Pallbearers will be Tim Walker, Tab Holcomb, Tyler Holcomb, John Pleasant, Hunter Jones, James Hardy, Brayden Hardy and Trey Hardy. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronald Holcomb, Mike Riggs and Jeff Pleasant.
Visitation will be Wednesday, March 16, 2022 from 5-7 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 17, 2022 in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Dr. Phillip Cook officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
