Mrs. Sandra Joyce Ligons, of Ridgely, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at West Tennessee Healthcare-Dyersburg hospital.  She was born June 21, 1962 to the late Finis & Elizabeth Markham.

Sandra worked over the years for various businesses but enjoyed her time most as a babysitter and homemaker.  Caring for her family and her home was her greatest dedication.  She was a member of the River of Life Church in Ridgely and enjoyed traveling to the mountains and the beach.

She is survived by her husband, Jimmy Ligons, her brothers, Danny Markham & wife, Darlene, of Ridgely, Ray Markham & wife, Peggy, of Newbern, her sisters, Sherry Kuykendall & husband, Ronnie, of Ridgely and Charlotte Moore of Tiptonville, her step children, Mark Roberson & wife, Melissa, Lori Beth Roberson and Maranda Ligons, grandchildren, Tyler Roberson & Allison Warden.  She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers and sisters; Bobby & Mack Markham, Brenda Sue Stanfill, Barbara Ann Parrish, Linda Ragan and Patsy Joyce.   She helped to raise each of her nieces, nephews and their children, loving every moment with them.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024 at the River of Life Church in Ridgely at 1:00 p.m. conducted by Bro. Clayton Mahan.  Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in New Haven Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Tim Haycraft, Ted Avery, Mike Moore, Tyler Roberson, David Tate and Carl Meadows.  Honorary pallbearers will be Stanley Mack Markham II, Jimmy Choate, Jr. Ty Avery, Mia Kate Avery, Livie & Lainey Choate, Ava Kate Rhamy, Hunter Alston and Braiden Chism.
