Obituary

Sammy Harold Parker, 76, passed away on June 18, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family.

He was born in Lake County on September 3, 1938 to the late J.C. and Onis Parker. Sammy was a retired farmer, previous road commissioner and local business owner. Sammy graduated from Tiptonville High School in 1956.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at New Haven Cemetery with the Rev. William R. George officiating. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

The family will receive visitors from 5:30-9 p.m. Friday at the Tiptonville Chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include his son, Tony C. Parker and wife, Misty, of Union City; a daughter, Joy Windsor of Tiptonville; five grandchildren, Chelsea and Casey Windsor of Tiptonville, Madison Parker of Ridgely, J'Coy and Mia Parker of Union City; and two great-grandchildren, Milly Rogers and Ellie Olhausen, both of Tiptonville. Sammy was a devoted father and friend to many.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Parker.

Pallbearers will be Cliff Berry, Steve Jones, Austin Williams, Cornelius Hughes, Jimmy Simmons and Bob Carnes. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Joe Crocker and Jim Springfield.
