Ruth Ann Moody, 78, of Dyersburg, passed away on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Dyersburg Manor Nursing Center.
She was a bookkeeper and tax preparer for various businesses and individuals. She was also a homemaker and past owner of H & R Block. Ruth was a member of the Apostolic Faith Tabernacle Church in Hayti, MO.
Services will be at 12 noon Saturday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with Pastor M. Steven Floyd and Mr. Jordan E. Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.
Survivors include her four daughters, Cindy Laurin (Mike) of Winterville, NC, Carla Moody, Benita Roach (Keith), all of Dyersburg and Heidi Floyd (Steven) of Hayti, MO; two brothers, Sammy Embry (Joan) of Nashville and David Embry (Shirl) of Friendship; seven grandchildren, Rebekah White (Michael), Wesley Laurin, Cynthia Roach, Cara Roach, Jordan Floyd, Benji Floyd (Bell) and Carlee Floyd; two step-grandchildren, Meghan Laurin and Ryan Roach; two great-grandchildren, Judah White and Bentlee Floyd; and two grandchildren by choice, Toby Rowe and Telmond Hamilton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ben Wesley Moody in 2003; her parents, William and Ruby Wilson Embry; and two brothers, Arnett Embry and James Embry.
Pallbearers will be Benji Floyd, Wesley Laurin, Jason Moody, Josh White, Toby Rowe and Telmond Hamilton.
