Ruth "Helen" Adams Chitwood, 92, of Dyersburg, TN, passed away on Saturday, November 30, 2019 at McKendree Senior Care Facility in Nashville, TN.

Helen was born on December 31, 1926, in Newbern, TN to the late William Cody and Mary Augusta Adams. She worked for dentists Dr. John Talley and Dr. Stan Young until the age of 87 and was a member of the Parr Street Church of Christ.

Graveside services for Mrs. Chitwood will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Fairview Cemetery with Mr. Scott Owen officiating, and visitation from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her nephews, Jim Ozment and his family of Nashville and Phillip Dean Plew in Panama and his family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benton Chitwood and two sisters, Mary Evelyn Ozment and Virginia Plew Wattam.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Adoration Home Health and Hospice of Nashville, McKendree Village of Nashville, or Mewtopia Cat Rescue of Memphis. Many thanks to the Hospice and McKendree teams for their care and devotion.
