Ruby Barnes, age 93, of Dyersburg, passed away peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.

She was born on July 2, 1923 in Dyersburg, TN, to the late Luther Wilkerson, Sr. and the late Ada Davis Wilkerson. Ruby was a retired employee for K-Mart and was a member of Phillips Street Church of God.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday in the chapel of Dyersburg Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Davis officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Dyersburg Funeral Home.

Survivors include her two sons, Johnny Barnes and wife, Debra, of Dyersburg and Steve Barnes and wife, Susan, of Jackson; a brother, Luther Wilkerson, Jr. and wife, Marie, of Houston, TX; four granddaughters; and seven great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Barnes; and two sisters, Dorothy White and Thelma Sanders.

Pallbearers will be Eddie Little, Glendale Brasfield, Barry Hart, Sonny Davidson, Andy Daniels, Ken Chilcutt and Tom Bunch. Honorary pallbearers will be Opal Richards, Truman Anderson, Janie Anderson, Barbara Hall, Tommy Moss, Sister Penella Davis, Pat Davidson and Maxine Wilbanks.

The family requests that memorials be directed to Phillips Street Church of God Building Fund or to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
