Roy Leon Meadows' Obituary
Roy Leon Meadows, 89, of Halls, died Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in Unionville.
He was a retired farmer and a Deacon and lifelong member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathe Ozment and the Rev. Bill Phipps officiating. Burial will be in Dyer County Memorial Gardens. Dyersburg Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church.
Survivors include his two sons, Roy Glynn Meadows and partner, Jane Brymer, of Newton, CT. and Roger Meadows and wife, Tina, of Unionville; two grandchildren, Molly Escue and husband, Larry, and Alan Meadows and wife, Jami, all of Unionville; and four great-grandchildren, Emily Escue, Bailey Escue, Kate Meadows and Jill Meadows.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Margaret Faye Meadows; and his parents, James and Nell Bickers Meadows.
Pallbearers will be Alan Meadows, Larry Escue, Stan Welch, Jeff Hogue, Lance Davison and Jeff Brewer.
The family requests that memorials be directed to Mt. Vernon Baptist Church.
